Damp crotches, missing mascots, errant F-bombs and more.
All of those things are here, and they’d perhaps be entertaining enough without much context. After all, that’s a three-pronged attack all in itself, but you need to know the backstories behind such WWE madness. Why did these moments happen, and who was involved? Those are the delicious questions that need answering.
There are some real classics here. For example, ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund’s infamous outburst at SummerSlam 1989 features, as does an historic ECW invasion led by then-revolutionary Paul Heyman back in 1997. Both those occasions created timeless drama, for varying reasons, but both are also hilarious when the curtain gets peeled right back and one learns the ins and outs about each respective ‘day of’ from people who were actually there.
Prepare for explanations that’ll only add to your enjoyment of these moments – brace for Triple H being an absolute sh*t disturber when Vince McMahon is trying to breeze his way through some backstage skits, marvel at Ken Shamrock refusing to play pro wrestler and… don’t call phone numbers you see on wrestling telly.
Just don’t do it…
