Bruce Willis has said his decision not to wear a facemask at a pharmacy in LA at the weekend was “an error in judgement”.

The 65-year-old Die Hard actor was photographed leaving a Rite Aid store and, according to a report in Page Six, was asked to leave the premises after he “refused” to wear a mask.

“It was an error in judgment,” Willis told People in a statement. “Be safe out there everyone and let’s continue to mask up.”

California’s Covid-19 death toll reached 30,000 this week, and there are currently more than two million cases in the state. It is transforming Disneyland into a mass vaccine distribution site as the coronavirus surge overwhelms hospitals.

In a picture shared by his eldest daughter Rumer, the star was seen wearing an orange utility boiler suit from the 1998 asteroid movie, which he paired with black trainers and a makeshift facemask made out of a bandana.

“He said this is ‘His saving the [world] outfit’ (Actual one from Armageddon),” Willis’s daughter wrote on Instagram.

She added the hashtag: “#thismanisadamnledgend.
