Sir Tom Jones starred alongside his Voice co-star Anne Marie on Friday’s instalment of Celebrity Gogglebox, and fans were delighted by the Sex Bomb hit-maker’s antics.

It was revealed this week that Tom, 80, would take part in the show alongside Anne Marie, 30, and viewers flocked to Twitter to gush about the Welsh singer.

A third Twitter user sweetly wrote: ‘Tom Jones is the cutest human alive,’ a fourth added: ‘Absolutely thrilled Tom Jones is on Gogglebox, thrilled.’

A fifth hilariously penned: ‘Tom Jones on #CelebrityGogglebox is my new favourite thing on TV. Can we just have a channel dedicated to Tom watching TV please?’

In one particularly touching moment, Tom got visibly emotional when watching The Supervet.

In the segment, vet Noel Fitzpatrick was tending to a dog that had been run over.

‘Oh, she’s bound to pull through, you can’t have a dog dying on the television,’ Tom said to Anne Marie as the canine whimpered in pain.

Noel was able to successfully perform surgery on the dog leading to a full recovery, with the pooch walking around again by the end of the episode.

Elsewhere in the episode, daytime TV presenter Lorraine Kelly surprised her 26-year-old daughter Rosie Smith when she admitted that she had a crush on Spock from Star Trek.

Telling Rosie that she has never had a secret crush, Lorraine, 61, said: ‘I’ve not really had a secret crush. I mean [I had] a huge crush on Mr Spock from Star Trek.’

Lorraine’s unimpressed daughter interjected: ‘That’s weird,’ to which Lorraine replied: ‘It’s not weird.’

It was reported last week that Channel 4 bosses were delighted that Tom was taking part in the show, which follows a host of stars reviewing the latest TV programmes.

A source told The Sun: ‘Sir Tom has been on the wish-list for Gogglebox bosses for a long time.

‘His schedule is incredibly busy but this time they have managed to secure him for filming. Everyone is hugely excited about Sir Tom coming on board.

‘He will be on the sofa watching the box with Anne-Marie. They got on like a house on fire on the show and their chemistry on screen was fantastic.’

Other names in the new series include footballers Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher, Happy Mondays stars Shaun Ryder and Bez, and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth and Maureen Lipman, Laura and Iain Stirling and Martin Kemp and son Roman.
