He recently made a dramatic return to the Coronation Street cobbles, and viewers have all noticed the same thing about Todd Grimshaw.
Todd has been on the run for the past three years and is now in hiding from dangerous gangsters, even willing to pretend that he was dead to give them the slip.
As he hides from his menacing ex Mick Costello at his mum Eileen’s house, fans have noticed that he’s often running up and down the stairs out of view of the people looking for him.
If Mick isn’t prowling after him, policeman Craig Tinker is on the case quizzing Eileen about his whereabouts as Todd peers through the bannisters.
“Half of every episode is just Todd going up and down the stairs,” tweeted one viewer.
“Scene 1: Todd runs down the stairs; Scenes 2-10 Todd runs down the stairs again, and again and again…,” said another.
“How many times is Todd going to come down the stairs tonight?” asked another fan during Friday’s double bill.
Another worried fan said: “Todd will develop arthritic knees the number of times he goes up and down Eileen’s stairs.”
And another joked: “New drinking game … take a shot every time Todd comes down the stairs.”
And soap watchers aren’t impressed with his hiding skills.
“How don’t they see Todd stood halfway down the stairs, when he keeps appearing before they’ve even shut the door, anyone would think he wants to get caught!” observed another viewer.

“He must do his 10,000 steps a day no bother, constantly up and down those bloody stairs!” exclaimed another.
Another asked: “Why is Todd always halfway down the stairs when the people who are looking for him aren’t even out the front door???”
And another tweeted: “God knows how Todd stayed hidden for so long he must be literally standing on the stairs when people walk out the house one look left and he’s spotted.”
Previously played by Bruno Langley, the bad boy character is now played by Gareth Pierce.
His mum Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver, returned home to Weatherfield from a trip to Thailand visiting her eldest son Jason to find out Billy Mayhew and Sean Tully had hired a private investigator who found out Todd and his friend Safia had ripped off a gangster and that Todd has gone to ground.
Then Eileen found a note left by Todd asking her to meet him at an old warehouse.
The last time Todd was on the cobbles was back in 2017 when he fled with his and Billy’s foster daughter Summer Spellman after her grandmother attempted to get custody of her.
Summer eventually returned without him and revealed that he was on the run from police.
