Dani Dyer’s loved ones are said to be ‘relieved’ that she had split from boyfriend Sammy Kimmence before he was jailed for three and a half years.

The 24-year-old former Love Island star welcomed her son Santiago with Sammy in January and had hinted that she would like to add another child to their family.

This has now been put in the past and Dani is said to be wanting to move on since Sammy was jailed for fraud.

A source told OK! that Dani’s dad Danny Dyer, who is becoming an EastEnders legend, that they are “relieved she’s walked away”.

The source continued: “They think this is for the best. They’ve told her she’ll never be alone as a single mum as they’ll always help her to raise Santiago.

“Dani knew Sammy’s crime was bad but everyone thinks she just buried her head in the sand about it and didn’t face up to the enormity of his crimes until he was sentenced.”

Sammy was imprisoned after he was found guilty of defrauding two pensioners out of nearly £34,000.

He apparently told them that he would invest the money in horse racing bets but instead used it to pay off his debts and help fund a lavish lifestyle.

Sammy had pleaded guilty to five counts of fraud back in April, and he was warned by the judge at the time that the offences were so serious, it crossed the threshold that would mean a custodial sentence.

Peter Haynes, who has Alzheimer’s and had £7,927 taken from him by Sammy, said: “In one go, all the savings that I accrued over my working life were wiped out. My bank account shows zero.

“I believe that I lost £8,820 to Mr Kimmence. I was left sick with worry.”

He continued: “I have worked all of my adult life and what was taken by Mr Kimmence was everything I had saved.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that I was left living on the breadline as a result of his actions and dishonesty.”

Craig Harris, who was Sammy’s defence, explained on Wednesday some of the reasons behind his client turning to crime.

He said about Sammy: “He was living above his means, he found himself surrounded by what he perceived to be the glitz and glamour of the City and financial services workers and they would take him out to Club 195, nightclubs, and well-regarded bar establishments.

“And when the time came for him to show willingness to engage in this type of frivolity, he did.”
