Courteney Cox showed off her impressive piano skills as she partook in a hilarious rendition of Elton John’s track Tiny Dancer with the Rocket Man hitmaker himself.

Just two weeks after her Friends costar Lisa Kudrow sat down for a duet with Lady Gaga during the Friends reunion, the Golden Globe nominee collaborated with John, 74, Ed Sheeran and Brandi Carlile, 40, for a short Instagram video.

‘Lisa Kudrow, this one’s for you,’ Sheeran said as he locked eyes with the camera, before the group burst into song.

Their song choice was a nod to the Friends’ episode, The One with the Princess Leia Fantasy, in which Kudrow’s character Phoebe Buffay incorrectly recites the lyrics to the John’s massive hit.

In the episode, Buffay says the most romantic song is ‘the one that Elton John wrote for that guy on Who’s the Boss?’

When Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) asks Buffay ‘which one was that,’ she replies: ‘Hold me close, young Tony Danza.’

To pay tribute to the scene, Cox and her musical pals also cheekily misquote the verses, which actually go: ‘Hold me closer, tiny dancer.’

After they finish the brief recording, Cox and John share a hug.

‘One of the greatest moments of my life. This one’s for you @lisakudrow. #phoebe #tonydanza #tinydancer @eltonjohn @teddysphotos @brandicarlile,’ Cox captioned the footage.

In response, Kudrow posted her reaction on Instagram.

‘OK, Ed Sheeran, Courteney Cox, Brandi Carlile and Elton John, that was the most thrilling thing ever. It was so good,’ she began.

The actress continued: ‘Technically it’s ‘Hold me close, Young Tony Danza,’ but what you did was great too. And, including the original song that you wrote, Sir Elton, that was really good too.’

Cox’s post comes just one week after she and Sheeran joined forces in a playful Instagram video that matched her character Monica’s choreographed dance with Ross from the sixth season episode The One With The Routine.

‘Just some routine dancing with a friend…’ she captioned the hilarious video while tagging Ed and adding the hashtag, ‘ReRoutine.’

The singer kicked off the dance by comically pointing from Courteney’s eyes to his, before she counted out ‘five, six, seven, eight’ while snapping her fingers.

'Technically it's 'Hold me close, Young Tony Danza,' but what you did was great too. And, including the original song that you wrote, Sir Elton, that was really good too,' she joked

Just like the original, she mimed slapping her partner before swaying side-to-side in front of him.

Then she crouched down on the ground while Ed leapfrogged over her.

The embarrassing dance moves continued, with both flapping their arms up and down like chickens.

They looked particularly silly as they lifted a leg and grabbed it at the ankle while bouncing up and down and holding their hands on the back of their heads.

The video ended in humorous disaster after Courteney rushed to jump into Ed’s arms, but she overshot the move and flew right past him, landing flat on the grass while also pulling Ed down with her.

The dancers even managed to replicate the vibe of the original dance by playing the audio from the show, which featured the audience laugh track, instead of just the original song, Loreta’s Trouble With Boys.

Later, Courteney urged her 11.1 million Instagram followers to try ‘The Routine’ for themselves.

‘I got a friend to do the routine with me… can you?’ she wrote, before urging her fans to post and tag their own versions.

In The One With The Routine, Monica and Ross had both managed to get into Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve party, but only a select few would get to dance on a platform being broadcast across the US.

In order to show off their talents they shuffled everyone off the dance floor and performed their pre-choreographed routine for the stage manager, who looked impressed.

It was all a joke though, as they had to repeat the dance but it was only recorded for the blooper reel.

Even better: Instead of just using the original song, Loreta's Trouble With Boys, Courteney played the episode audio so their new dance still had the laugh track punching up the moves

Courteney’s friendship goes back years to when the Shape Of You singer helped set her up with her longtime boyfriend Johnny McDaid of the band Snow Patrol.

The two have been together since 2013, and the Friends star seemed to repay Ed a year later when she let him stay in her Malibu beach house for free while writing songs.

‘There was no rent but I made the bed and cups of tea and things like that. If you’re staying at your friend’s house, you should treat it like your own,’ he told The Sun at the time.

‘Well, actually, that’s a lie — because I don’t make my own bed at home,’ he added.
