Ed Sheeran is feeling better than ever after stopping all his bad habits.
The Perfect hitmaker, 30, has shared how the Covid-19 pandemic led to him ditching his vices of takeaways and wine and as a result he has lost weight.
Ed opened up on his daily sweat sessions and how he is enjoying his healthier way of life during an interview with BBC One over the weekend.
The Grammy winner said: “It’s the first time I’ve been really healthy. I’ve kind of stopped all the bad habit stuff in my life and started exercising every day.
“I was eating like a takeaway every single day, and now I don’t eat take away every single day and it’s been good.”
Adding that coming off tour played a major role in his lifestyle overhaul, the father of one added: “It just happened, and because I wasn’t having chicken wings and two bottles of wine a night.”
Ed previously told that he got the bug for running when he gave up smoking three years ago.
Sharing how he became keen on pounding the pavement, he said on the Behind the Medal podcast in 2019: “I started doing it because when I stopped smoking, I was very aware that my lungs were so full of s— that I needed to clear them out.”
He added that he prefers to go outside rather than run for miles on a treadmill, as he explained: “Gyms are good but there’s nothing like fresh air to really give you a clean out. That’s, for me, the main reason why I started doing it.”
Last week, Ed celebrated a major music milestone when his track Beautiful People hit a billion streams.
And whilst other big names in the music business would salute the mega moment with a bash or treat themselves to a special purchase, the hitmaker, 30, decided to pay tribute to the achievement in an unconventional way.
Ed marked the accomplishment by pouring a glass of red wine all over himself and capturing the moment on camera.
The Shape of You singer showed his fans that he is up for a laugh as he uploaded a snap of the vino sloshing down his face as he wore green framed shades and a sailors hat teamed with a white shirt and black waistcoat.
He then shared that his pal caught the shot as he tagged @zakarywalters.
Photographer Zak also shared the post on his page and penned: “That Friday feeeeeelin’ @teddysphotos.”
