For Gemma Collins, 2021 might just be the year for new beginnings.
And although the pair have gotten back together plenty of times before, this time around already looks different for the Essex stars.
Speaking on her BBC podcast last week, Gem opened up about what she hopes this year has in store for her, as she touched on some heavy parts of 2020.
The GC revealed she suffered a miscarriage with Arg’s baby during the first lockdown last year, but admits she’s not given up hope on starting a family of her own just yet.
“How will I feel about 2021 this time next year?” she asked. “Well, I hope I’m married, I hope I have a baby this year – I feel that it’s going to happen for me.
“My main focus this year will be to really be comfortable being Gemma Collins, and definitely committing and giving quality time to a relationship and, hopefully, I’m going to have a baby.”
Gem welcomed the new year more deflated than ever, after both of her parents were struck down with coronavirus.
As her mum and dad continue to recover from the deadly bug, it’s been reported that Arg has been her “rock” during what has been a terrifying time for the TV star.
A source told Closer: “Arg has been a huge support to Gemma over the past few weeks, especially with her parents’ illness.
“He’s shown how far he’ come on his sobriety journey – checking-in on her constantly and being on the other end of the phone for her whenever she needs a shoulder to cry on.”
“While the lockdown restrictions have made it hard to see each other, they’ve been for a couple of walks – adhering to the rules of seeing one person outside their household,” she source added.
The Mirror has contacted James Argent’s rep for comment while Gemma’s rep declined to comment.
Gem decided to split from Arg last year after he reportedly wanted an open relationship.
Gemma was left hurting after James called her a slew of cruel names including a “hippo” and “fat f**k”.
She shared a collection of savage screenshots of their exchange on her Instagram before quickly deleting the messages.
At the time she also wrote of her heartbreak and announced that she would take a break from social media.
