Gogglebox off-screen love lives – stunning partners, racist trolls and CBB love triangle – Mirror Online

The Gogglebox cast let us into their living rooms every week – but fans are still desperate to find out more about their personal lives.

While some stars appear with their partners, many choose to shun the limelight and don’t appear on our screens.

But others have shared details of their love lives on social media, with fans begging for their mystery other halves to pop up on the show.

Earlier this month, Gogglebox fans were delighted when Pete Sandiford shared a snap of his gorgeous girlfriend for the first time.

However, this led to poor Pete being targeted by vile trolls – and he is not the only one.

George Gilbey was caught up in a very public love triangle when he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.

Here is a look at the off-screen love lives of the Gogglebox cast:

Pete’s stunning girlfriend

Pete Sandiford is seen on the Gogglebox with sister Sophie, but there is another special woman in his life.

Earlier this month, Pete joked that his sister came a close second to being his best friend.

He shared an adorable photo with his stunning girlfriend, Paige Yeomans, on social media for the very first time.

The cute couple were seen cosying up to each other in the snap, which Pete revealed had been taken last year.

He wrote: “My Mrs and best mate what more could I ask for, don’t worry @sophiesandiford1 you are a close second best friend”.

Many delighted fans sent positive messages of support, with Pete’s sister Sophie writing: “Love you guys so much”

However, there were a few nasty trolls who nastily claimed Pete was “punching”.

One idiot wrote: “Jesus christ, batting well above there lad. Congrats.”

“The benefits of being on telly,” another cruelly suggested.

Luckily the bast majority of comments were positive, with fans saying they made the perfect couple.

“Decent, honest lads who make you laugh – always get the girl,” said one supporter.

Hitting back at critics, another added: “I don’t know why people feel the need to say he’s punching. But then again people who are like that are only jealous or insecure”

Racist trolls

Gogglebox favourite Tom Malone went public with his relationship with model girlfriend Bryony Briscoe in June.

Tom has shared some amazing snaps of the loved-up pair on Instagram and they have produced some hilarious Tik Toks.

But the much-loved TV star was horrified last month after disgusting trolls directed racial abuse towards his stunning girlfriend.

Tom slammed the racist keyboard warriors and posted a screenshot of a sickening comment he received under his latest Instagram post with Bryony.

The pair were pictured snuggling up to one another in the loved-up snap, but some vile trolls mocked beautiful Bryony for the colour of her skin.

“Where’s ya bird.???” the troll wrote underneath the snap, before adding a string of monkey emojis to add to the degrading comment.

Calling out the vile remark, Tom took to Twitter to insist that people in the UK need to open their eyes when it comes to the realities of racism in society today.

“This happened just minutes ago….2020,” he wrote beside the picture.

“Racism is a massive issue in the UK whether you want to admit it or not.

“#BlackLivesMatter,” he told his 64,300 followers.

Following an outpour of support from his loyal fans, Tom returned to Twitter a short while later to address the disgusting comment once again.

The star penned: “A lot of people are trying to brush this off as someone that’s ‘jealous’.

“I know you guys mean well but that’s just belittling the issue. The issue here is blatant racism… not jealousy.

“Most people who get jealous resort to unfollowing me…not racial abuse,” he insisted.

CBB love triangle

George Gilbey shot to fame on Gogglebox when he joined parents Linda and Pete McGarry on the sofa in series 2.

However, they were booted off the show in 2014 when George defied the rules about going on other TV shows.

George headed into the CelebrityBig Brother house and became a bit of a ladies man.

He first started growing close to Stephanie Pratt – with the pair sharing a kiss and George claiming he was “in love” with The Hills star to fellow housemates.

After Stephanie’s eviction, George moved very quickly onto B*Witched singer Edele Lynch.

The pair got up to some dirty dancing in the living room before having a cheeky snog outside.

“I love your leg skin, you’ve got the softest leg skin in the world,” George suavely told the giggling singer.

George also had eyes for Edele

And when the lights went out in the bedroom the housemates slipped into bed together for a cuddle and another kiss.

Gutted Stephanie was awkwardly made to watch the video during the last Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side of the year and admitted it was “the worst betrayal”

“I’m obviously a very bad judge of character. Edele’s my best friend and so is George,” said Stephanie.

“You [Edele] and George were my best friends in the house, that was the worst betrayal.”

Edele claimed Stephanie shouted the odds at her after the final over blossoming friendship with George.

“She’s not a happy camper,” Edele told website Beamly. “It would have been nice to have a conversation about it with her but she preferred to shout.”

Once outside of the house, George and Edele went on holiday to a caravan park, and unsurprisingly their romance fizzled out.

The love of Lee’s life

Steve and Lee have been together for 26 years

Jenny Newby and Lee Riley have often been mistaken for mother and son or even husband and wife in the past, but this is certainly not the case.

The hilarious pair, who have been firm Gogglebox favourites since they started filming from their Hull caravan in 2014, are actually best friends.

They met while Jenny was working in a pub and Lee was a customer and have been close pals for decades.

Their actual partners have never been seen on Gogglebox – choosing to stay out of the limelight.

Jenny is happily married to husband Ray, while Lee has been with partner Steve Mail, who he describes as the “love of his life”, for 26 years.

Last year, Steve posted an adorable snap of the pair with a cute message to mark their 25th anniversary together.

Lee tweeted: “Happy anniversary Steve 25 years of hell… ermmmmmm I mean bliss.

“No you’re the love of my life xx.”

Steve wrote back: “Happy 25th anniversary to @ leegogglebox the love of my life and my best friend love you to the moon and back here’s to many more.”

After spending the summer in lockdown with Jenny in her caravan, Lee jetted out to Cyprus to spend time with boyfriend Steve.

Last month, Lee bid an emotional farewell to Steve as he was forced to leave to return to the UK to resume filming for Gogglebox.

But they were reunited this week when Steve reunited with Lee in the UK – and got an incredible snap with Jenny in her caravan.

“From sunny Cyprus to wet and miserable Hull but Very happy to be Reunited with my better half and so good to see my dear friend Jenny,” Steve captioned the cute pic of the trio.

Adoring Gogglebox fans have called for Steve to appear on the show.

Shaun’s little family

Shaun is always seen on Gogglebox with his parents, brother and their family dogs.

But his girlfriend Jade has not joined them on the sofa yet.

Back in July, Shaun became a first time dad as he announced the birth of son Louis with his girlfriend.

“Super happy to announce the birth of my son Louis Malone,” he wrote on Instagram.

Shaun revealed the Jade had undergone a C-section as he praised his partner in a lovely post.

He later added: “Thanks for everyone’s interest, mother and baby are both well I couldn’t be more proud of my girlfriend I wouldn’t be that brave having my belly cut open.”

Among those that congratulated the new father were the Malone family’s Twitter account, run by his mum and dad, which tweeted: “So excited to welcome our new Grandson Louis !!!! Can’t wait to meet him. Congratulations !!!”

Little Louis already has his own ‘Mini Malone’ Instagram account full of adorable snaps.

Derby-based family the Siddiquis are made up of dad Sid and brothers Baasit and Umar, but viewers have never seen their wives.

Sid has a wife of almost 40 years, Nasreen, who has not appeared on the show, but this week fans got to see a rare picture of the Siddiqui matriarch.

Baasit Siddiqui posted a photo of his loving parents along with his daughter, Amelia, leading many to plead for Nasreen to join the boys on the sofa.

Alongside the cute snap, Baasit wrote: “I was trying to get a photo of all three of these guys staring at the camera and smiling! Dad is like a statue with that smile but Mum and Amelia we’re doing it on purpose.

“Each time one of them would smile the other would look the other way or swap! The Siddiqui ladies are a stubborn and cheeky bunch.”

IT teacher Baasit is married to wife Melissa – and the pair have adorable daughter Amelia and son Theodore.

Baasit regularly posts photos of his children and other half on social media.

On a family day out this summer, he wrote: “Lots of family fun with these lovely people. Got to love your daily family walk when the weathers this nice.”

Amelia has actually made the odd appearance on Gogglebox with her dad, uncle and granddad Sid.

While wife Melissa, who has not appeared on screen, often posts about the show on social media.

Umar is also married, but his wife has not featured on the programme either.

Warner sisters’ boyfriends

Ellie and Izzi Warner have brought laughs and the odd bit of controversy to Gogglebox since they first appeared on our screens in 2015.

Nail technician Izzi lives with boyfriend Grant, who is yet to appear on the show, and their two kids, five-year-old son Bobby and eight-month old Bessie Rose

The proud mum-of-two often shares snaps of her cute kids on Instagram and confirmed Bessie’s arrival on the social media platform in February this year.

While Ellie, who still lives at their family home in Leeds, has introduced her partner to Gogglebox viewers.

When the country first went into lockdown, there was a major change on screen as Izzi was was briefly replaced for an episode by Ellie’s boyfriend Nat.

But there was some controversy the week after when viewers complained about Izzi returning to be in the same house as Ellie.
