Gordon Ramsay has been accused of breaking quarantine rules after flying to the UK from America to attend his son’s Royal Marines ceremony.

The TV chef, 53, jetted into London‘s Heathrow Airport from the States last Thursday, before travelling to his £4million Cornwall home via helicopter.

Government rules state anyone flying into the UK from the US must isolate for 14 days – but 24 hours after arriving back in the country, Gordon was pictured in photos he shared from Jack’s service to welcome him into the Marines.

A source revealed to MailOnline the celebrity chef only stayed in the UK for four days before flying back to America for work commitments.

An insider said: ‘Gordon did not adhere to Covid-19 rules by isolating upon his return from America.

‘He only came home for Jack’s ceremony and is already back in the States for work, which doesn’t feel at all fair.

‘First it was Kanye West and now Gordon, celebrities shouldn’t be let off for breaking regulations, and therefore putting others at risk.’

Gordon attended the service alongside his wife Tana, 46, and their five children, twins Jack and Holly, 20, Megan, 22, Matilda, 18, and toddler Oscar.

Together the family posed in a number of celebratory photos that were later shared across social media.

Gordon said on Instagram: ‘Can’t tell you enough how proud I am of this young man.

‘Jack Ramsay you’ve made me feel like the proudest father today, congrats on joining @royalmarines, what an amazing achievement.’

In the image posted to Instagram, Gordon can be seen with staff at the restaurant who all wore masks, but the father-of-five removed his for the shot.

Self-isolation exemptions can be granted for unique work reasons. However, it is believed Gordon only returned to the UK for Jack’s Marines service, and to spend the occasion with his family.

Most destinations worldwide insist on a 14-day quarantine for arrivals with only a handful exempt from advice against ‘all but essential’ international travel.

Failure to isolate could result in a fine of up to £10,000 from the government and you may face prosecution if the fine is not paid on time.

MailOnline has approached a spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay for comment.
