Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have revealed one of the professional skaters on Dancing On Ice has suffered a freak accident ahead of the new series starting this weekend.
The skating competition is due to begin this Sunday (January 17) with 12 new celebrities taking to the ice.
DOI hosts Holly and Phillip revealed on today’s This Morning that Graham Bell has had to delay his start in the competition after partner Yebin Mok suffered a horror accident.
Both presenters admitted they had seen of a photo of the injury during a show Zoom call on Tuesday and said it was so gruesome they are unable to share.
Holly admitted that she was unable to even look at image, with the pair sending Yebin their best wishes as she’ll be out from skating for weeks.
Holly said on This Morning: “This week Olympic skier Graham Bell and his partner Yebin had a freak accident, which resulted in her having a laceration on her leg.”
Phil continued: “We had a Zoom meeting yesterday with the team and they showed us a picture that we can not show you on TV.
“Holly couldn’t even look at it, she had to look away – and it was a very nasty stab wound from an ice blade.
“You could see the tendons, it’s a very dangerous show.”
ITV has said Yebin effectively suffered a stab wound from an ice blade and said she received immediate medical attention and is now resting and healing.
This now means that Rufus Hound and his partner Robin will take part in the first show of the series and Graham will be skating alone in a group number this Sunday.
He will be back in show two with Karina Mantra stepping in for Yebin as she recuperates.
