I’m a Celebrity viewers are “terrified” of the camp jester – and some think they know who voices him.
The historic portrait came to life in last night’s episode and gave secret tasks to the newest arrivals.
Ruthie Henshall and Russell Watson had to complete the challenges to win luxury items for camp.
I’m a Celebrity viewers quickly became distracted by the character though, known in camp as Dave.
They took to social media to share their anxieties over the “creepy” portrait, with one viewer stating that the jester would “definitely be giving [them] nightmares for the foreseeable.”
Another wrote on Twitter: “Everytime I close my eyes I see that jester and honestly I am terrified.”
He even scared Giovanna Fletcher’s young children, as revealed by her husband Tom Fletcher.
“The boys will be having nightmares about Dave the jester now,” he wrote on Twitter in the episode.
It’s understood that the historic portrait was printed recently in North Wales specifically for the show.
And although the jester has become a standout role, it’s not yet been confirmed who voiced him.

There were a number of theories proposed by viewers over who could be providing the voice though.
The most shocking theory was perhaps that it was Ant and Dec themselves behind the jester portrait.
“Was it Ant or Dec doing that jester voice? Rolling on the floor laughing,” wrote one fan on Twitter.
A couple of I’m a Celebrity viewers suspected that this was the case – but not everyone felt the same.
Another theory proposed by a number of social media users was that Joe Lycett was in fact the jester.
Some fans were convinced that the comedian, from Birmingham, was behind the nightmare-ish figure.
“Someone tell me that jester ain’t Joe Lycett doing a Welsh account,” responded one viewer tonight.
Another commented on Twitter: “You cannot convince me this isn’t @joelycett with a fake accent.”
And one viewer suggested that the jester had a “tone to his voice” which was similar to Joe Lycett’s.
Other names proposed as the real voice of the jester included Christopher Biggins and Rob Brydon.
The new series of I’m a Celebrity, filmed at Gwrych Castle, continues on ITV later tonight from 9pm.
