ITV blunder on The Million Pound Cube leaves viewers really confused – My London

Were you left very confused during The Million Pound Cube on Saturday night?

Don’t worry, you weren’t the only one.

Fans eagerly awaited the first episode of the new series, following half a decade without one of the nation’s favourite gameshows.

But the show returned with a couple of changes this time – a larger prize fund is up for grabs (as the title indicates) and contestants now play in pairs.

Saturday night’s (October 17) episode kicked off the series with a celebrity line-up, including Jason Manford with his brother Stephen, and Mo Gilligan with his best friend, actor David Ajao.

The celebs braved a range of challenges in The Cube, raising money for charity while Phillip Schofield presented alongside.

All was going well, but when Mo was in The Cube trying his luck again, the sound dimmed, before completely cutting out.

And of course it wasn’t long before viewers took to social media to share their confusion.

“So I thought I went deaf during The Cube ….. what happened [there was] no volume……” one person Tweeted.

“I think someone sat on the mixing desk in the gallery…wanna turn the sound back up?” another asked.

“Was one of the challenges on The Cube tonight for the sound engineer to make everyone think there was something wrong with their TV speakers? Because if so, they really smashed that!” one person posted.

“I didn’t like sound anyway” another joked.

But the problem did not last long, as the glitch was soon fixed, with ITV apologising during the end credits for the show.

And viewers still seem to be looking forward to more new episodes, which will follow with non-celebrity contestants over the next week.

The Million Pound Cube kicks off its regular editiononMonday (October 19) at 9pm.
