Jeremih is continuing to battle coronavirus in intensive care, with his agent confirming the singer is in a ‘critical condition’.

The 33-year-old is currently in ICU in a Chicago hospital after contracting Covid-19, with a rep for the star sharing an update on his condition to Variety.

They confirmed that Jeremih – real name Jeremy Phillip Felton – is no longer on a ventilator, but his condition remains ‘critical’.

‘J was just pulled off the ventilator,’ Jeremih’s agent confirmed to the publication.

‘He’s still in ICU in critical condition. Please keep him in your prayers.’

The update come after Jeremih’s family had urged his fans to take the coronavirus pandemic seriously, while insisting that the Birthday Sex hit-maker is still not ‘out of the woods’ yet.

Jeremih’s family told CNN in a statement that the virus has ‘viciously attacked’ his body and he is now battling complications.

They stressed that his condition is ‘rare for a young man Jeremih’s age without any underlying conditions’, as the statement continued: ‘His family would like to remind the world that Covid-19 is real and not to be taken lightly.’

‘Also, it’s important for people infected to quarantine and let their families and friends know ASPA. There’s no shame in contracting Covid-19 and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others.’

The artist’s family said they were ‘very grateful’ for everyone’s prayers for Jeremiah, as they asked fans to continue praying for him.

50 Cent had confirmed Jeremih’s hospitalisation five days ago, as he shared a picture of himself and his friend together to Instagram and captioned it: ‘pray for my boy @jeremih he’s not doing good this covid sh*t is real 🙏🏿 he’s in ICU in Chicago.’

He wasn’t the only star to send their support to Jeremih. Chance The Rapper tweeted: ‘Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now.

‘I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him.’

Big Sean, meanwhile, posted: ‘‘Prayers up, praying for your strength  @Jeremih.’

Jeremih signed to Def Jam Records in 2009 and is also known for hits Don’t Tell Em, Down On Me featuring 50 Cent and Planez.
