Kate Garraway has again thanked the NHS after an incident on holiday in Cornwall saw her mother rushed to hospital.
The Good Morning Britain presenter had taken some time away with her family to holiday with Chorley-born husband Derek Draper remaining at home and looked after by his direct relatives.
However, while on holiday in Cornwall, Kate’s mum was rushed to hospital after experiencing an ‘unfortunate tumble’.
She posted to Instagram: “Just when you thought (hoped!) I hadn’t had a new reason to thank the NHS recently cue an unfortunate tumble from my mum on the way to the beach and a broken foot and twisted ankle.
“Thanks to the typically wonderful NHS team at Bodmin hospital and particularly wonderful Ruth we managed to get her booted and safely home for further treatment.
“You were all so kind – thank you so much.”
Kate spent the time in Cornwall with her children Darcey and Billy as well as other members of her family but it did end up with her mum wearing a boot due to her injuries.
The presenter was given another opportunity to thank the NHS as a result. Husband Derek had been suffering from significant health issues ever since he was hospitalised with Covid last year.
Kate’s GMB co-host Charlotte Hawkins replied: “Oh no, your poor mum! Sending love xx.”
