Love Island star Maura Higgins has been frank about having grey hairs.
The 30-year-old – who recently bravely appeared on Loose Women make-up free – took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to reveal that she was in dire need of a trip to the hairdressers as her grey roots were in need of a touch-up.
Sharing that her re-growth was in need of some TLC, she posted a photo of the top of her head that showed her middle parting framed with white hairs.
“Fifty shades of grey,” Maura penned atop of the image before sharing a handy product she uses to cover her greys amid being unable to head to the hair salon amid lockdown.
Revealing the product – a coloured spray made for hair – the Irish beauty shared that it was not a social media ad but that she wanted her fans to know what she did to hide her melanin-free strands when she couldn’t get it professionally dyed.
She then added a snap of the small bottle – available from L’Oreal named Root Touch-Up – which she dubbed a “lifesaver” and took a photo of her hair after applying the clever beauty item to show how she had managed to conceal her grey tones in a matter of minutes.
Since rising to fame on looking for love show Love Island, Maura has collaborated with huge brands and launched her own eyelash brand and she reportedly has plans to release her own perfume.
Last year, a source told the Sun on Sunday: “Maura is really passionate about beauty and a fragrance is a next step in her lucrative empire.”

Back in the summer, amid the launch of her Fake Flutters range, Maura warned Kylie Jenner that she was coming for her crown after the American reality star became a billionaire with her own fashion and make-up empire.
Maura said in June: “I’d say Kylie Jenner would have to watch out. I reckon she’s going to be looking for my products in the future.”
The Irish TV star expressed her hope to follow the tried and tested Kardashian business plan to success.
She said: “I want to do what the Kardashians do and use my social media channels to sell the products. I’m not just putting my name to the make-up collection, I’ve actually done a lot of hard work.”
