The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who quit the Royal Family earlier this year, have been attacked as “naive” after they signed a multi-year deal with American TV streaming service Netflix to create TV series, films and children’s shows. Royal biographer Angela Levin warned the couple they will not be able to stop the streaming giant using them to “absolutely decry the Royal Family”.
She said Prince Harry made a “terrible” decision to sign a deal with the same company which is responsible for The Crown – the TV show which “ridicules his father, his mother and his grandmother”.
Ms Levin, the author behind ‘Harry: Conversations with the Prince’ said: “I think Harry made a terrible error.
“He’s almost unrecognisable from Prince Harry I spent a lot of time with.

“But I think, you know, Meghan is desperate to earn lots of money and Netflix offered them something.
“I think they’re being naive as they have been about lots of things in that they don’t realise that a big company like Netflix is going to want its pint of blood.
“They’re going to delve in and get a lot of information that will absolutely decry the Royal Family.

“I think the Royal Family does a lot of for us. Of course they’ve got a lot of faults, haven’t we all.
“But the sense of duty Prince William has now, and Prince Charles, I spent a year with Prince Charles before his 70th birthday, I was astonished at how many young people he had managed to get off the streets and into work.
“I don’t think we should just paint them black.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been attacked as “naive”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are living in LA during the coronavirus pandemic, have set up a production company as they continue to step away from their former roles as senior royals.
They said their production company would cover a wide spectrum of programming.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they wanted to focus on content “that informs but also gives hope”.

As parents to one-year-old Archie Harrison, the couple also plans to make “inspirational family programming”.
In their statement at the time, the Sussexes said: “Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit, of courage, resilience and the need for connection.
“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.”
It comes amid reports Meghan and Harry have dropped a major clue they will not be returning to the UK after they handed the keys to their Frogmore cottage over to Princess Eugenie, who is pregnant with her first child, and her husband Jack Brooksbank.
