There are six candidates in the category, with the winner revealed at the Bafta ceremony on June 6. The most controversial is the Black Lives Matter-inspired routine carried out by Diversity in Britains Got Talent, which sparked 24,500 complaints.
Other chosen moments include the Gogglebox contributors casting an important eye over among Boris Johnsons lockdown addresses from Downing Street; the unmasking of Lady Whistledowns identity in Netflixs Bridgerton; the appearance of Luke Skywalker in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian; and an EastEnders scene in which a character was murdered at the conclusion of a traumatic domestic abuse story.
The nominees were selected by a panel, from a long list based on audience seeing figures, social networks data and analytic research.
Hannah Wyatt, chair of Baftas tv committee, stated: “The shows and minutes chosen for Virgin Medias Must-See Moment Award 2021 reflect our TELEVISION routines of the in 2015 and completely celebrate the relationship between the TELEVISION audiences at home and the individuals who make it.”
