Holly Willoughby wasn’t on This Morning on Monday morning, with viewers quick to notice she was missing from the latest episode of the ITV daytime show.
Her co-host Phillip Schofield instead opened the show with Rochelle Humes, who stood in for her.
But Phil soon explained why his pal and co-host Holly wasn’t on the show in the morning, with it being Bank Holiday Monday.
Holly very rarely hosts the show on Bank Holidays, or other school holidays – and Phil himself normally misses these too.
The pair are usually replaced by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, or others including Alison Hammond or Rochelle.
But Phil decided to host Monday’s episode, while Holly took the day off to be with her children as she normally does.
Perhaps Phil chose to come in because it was all things Line of Duty on the show following the series six finale the night before.
Meanwhile, he joked Rochelle chose to ditch her own children to replace Holly, sending the pair into hysterics.
Rochelle said Holly was a “better mum than her’, as she shared her excitement to be back on the This Morning sofa.
Just in case viewers were wondering where Holly was, after she recently took an extended break after Half Term, Phillip informed them about Rochelle standing in for one day only.
He said: “We should say also it’s Bank Holiday, so Holly is with the kids today, Rochelle’s in today.”
Phillip then quipped: “You decided to leave yours…”
An amused Rochelle responded: “I know, I dunno about Holly she’s a better mum than I am. You’re telling me there’s no more school again? No Phil, I’m coming to work.”
Many viewers did take to Twitter to question where Holly was, but others did quickly realise it was normal for her and Phil to be absent from the Bank Holiday shows.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
