There was a long line of cars waiting at the County’s COVID-19 Vaccination Super Station at Petco Park Wednesday, where thousands of health care professionals were scheduled to get their first dose of the vaccine.

The Vaccination Super Station is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week for health care workers who have made an appointment online at www.VaccinationSuperStationSD.com. By Jan. 15, the site is expected to be administering about 5,000 COVID-19 doses per day.

On Tuesday, San Diego County public health officials reported 3,524 new COVID-19 infections and 41 deaths from the virus, as the county nears 200,000 total cases since the pandemic began.
