Dustin Diamond has been hospitalised amid fears that he has cancer.

The 44-year-old actor, who made his name playing the iconic Screech in Saved by the Bell in the 1990s, has reportedly complained of ‘widespread pain and discomfort’.

Dustin’s reps have told TMZ that he has been admitted to a hospital in Florida, where he is undergoing tests to pinpoint the source of his pain.

There are fears for the actor as his family has a history of cancer, with his mother dying from breast cancer.

He will always be linked with Saved by the Bell after debuting the character, Samuel ‘Screech’ Powers in 1988’s Good Morning, Miss Bliss.

He continued the role, based at the fictional Bayside High School, in the following Saved by the Bell series.

When the show had a reboot, Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Screech was then the principal of the school he had attended.

His career took a drastic turn in 2006 when he released a pornographic spin off, titled Screeched – Saved by the Smell.

He also forged a reality TV career, starring in a number of shows from MTV’s Celebrity Boxing series to CBS’ CelebrityBig Brother.

He also got to grips with other celebrities in Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling.

Away from the TV screen, Dustin was convicted in 2015 for stabbing a man in a bar on Christmas Day the year before.

The incident happened after his fiancée Amanda Schutz was in an altercation with another woman.

He was released early from prison after completing three months in jail for a disorderly conduct conviction but then was arrested again after violating the terms of his probation.

He was then detained at Ozaukee County Jail in Port Washington.
