Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left wondering what Giovanni Pernice said to partner Ranvir Singh after the pair lit up the ballroom with a red hot Argentine Tango on Saturday night that left judge Shirley Ballas and plenty of viewers hot under the collar.
Good Morning Britain star Ranvir has been a real fan favourite so far this series and, after slightly disappointing scores last week, was hoping to bounce back in style this weekend when she and pro dancer Giovanni performed an Argentine Tango to Prince classic When Doves Cry, which you can watch in the video above taken from Strictly’s Twitter.
Strictly fans at home were quick to pick up on the sparks flying between the pair as the drama filled routine built to its crescendo but then many of them were left wondering what Giovanni said as the pair came out of hold to go over to the judges.
Mystery solved as Giovanni gave Ranvir words of encouragement, telling her “well done” as she appeared to look far from happy at the end of the dance.
It might have been that she was wanting to stay in mean and moody character but some viewers thought something was up.
Twitter was quickly full of posts about Ranvir’s demeanour, with one viewer posting: “Ranvir doesn’t look happy for some reason, I bloody loved it!!!” and a second reacted: “Ranvir doesn’t look very happy!”
Picking up on their undeniable chemistry, another commented: “The heat between Ranvir and Gio is just too much for me at the grand old age of 39,” and in agreement, another tweeted: “I am no prude but even I got flustered at the end of Ranvir and Giovannis dance. Loved it.”
Ranvir had plenty of reason to be happy as she got her first 10 of the series from stand-in judge Anton du Beke, while the always hard to impress Craig Revel-Horwood gave her 8 and head judge Shirley Ballas awarded a 9.
Top of the leaderboard this weekend were Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing and dancing partner Karen Hauer, who scored a near perfect 29/30 for their street dance heavy Couples’ Choice routine.
In a huge reversal of fortunes, last week’s frontrunners Clara and Aljaz found themselves at the bottom of the pile with just 18 for their samba to That’s The Way I Like It – 11 points less than just seven days earlier.
