Nicholas Braun looks worlds away from his Succession character, cousin Greg, in an edgy new fashion shoot for the July issue of British GQ magazine.
The American star of the HBO hit, 33, posed with tousled hair, a pink jumper and jeans, leaving behind Greg’s dowdy suits and that khaki jacket as he detailed his battle with anxiety and self-esteem.
He told the publication: ‘I guess I’m one of those people who is not, like, instantly comfortable with people; it takes me a while to know what version of myself I’m going to be with somebody.’
Greg, is that you? Succession’s Nicholas Braun appeared worlds apart from his role as Greg as he discussed anxiety and self-esteem in an interview with British GQ magazine

He explained: ‘I do love when people love the show, but if it makes me feel so much better about myself that someone said this to me, I think I need to work on my self-esteem more.’
Nicholas also admits to struggling in romantic relationships.
He shared: ‘[My relationships that came closest to that] didn’t go on very long. You know, it would be a few weeks of obsession and, like…I don’t like feeling that powerless.
‘I kind of run away from relationships where I know, “OK, I care too much about this. They don’t care as much as me. I gotta get out”.’

Succession tracks the lives of the Roy family as they contemplate their future once their ageing father (Brian Cox) begins to step back from the media and entertainment conglomerate they control.
In-fighting between the patriarch, Logan, and his power hungry children, Kendall, Shiv, Roman and Connor, lead to the eruption of a brutal family feud fueled by money and secrets.
And Nicholas said of the show: ‘[The third series] sees Tom and Greg’s relationship continue to be rocky. And there’s a deep love for one another under it all. That’s all I can say.’
The actor said he feels ‘super present’ when he’s shooting scenes for the series.
He said: ‘It’s not a one-minute take, it’s a six-minute take, so you can’t leave your headspace and everyone is sort of forced to stay super present for the entirety of the scene.’
The morally bankrupt but financially wealthy Roy family will contend with a new one-percenter trying to take control of their media empire in season three of Succession.
It was revealed last month that Adrien Brody, 48, was cast as a ‘billionaire activist investor’ vying for the top spot at Waystar in the highly anticipated third season of the HBO hit.
The American actor joins Swedish hunk Alexander Skarsgard as a guest star in the new season alongside the main cast.

HBO revealed the star will play Josh Aaronson, ‘a billionaire activist investor who becomes pivotal in the battle for the ownership of the Waystar media empire.’
Succession swept up at the Primetime Emmy Awards last year as it won seven trophies including Outstanding Drama Series.
It also won two Golden Globes earlier that year including Best Television Series – Drama.

Season two ended with Kendall in a power grab for control over Waystar and an attempted ousting of his father Logan through a public relations coup.
Fans have been waiting years now for a new season of the melodrama because season two wrapped up in 2019.
As with several other series, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the highly-anticipated season but production is currently under way.
In 2009, Nicholas starred alongside Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato in the Disney movie Princess Protection Program.

And looking back on that experience, Nicholas now recognises that they were both set to become the ‘next big thing’.
Reflecting on the 2009 movie, he explained: ‘When you do a movie with Selena or Demi, you know, and they’re, like, being groomed in a way for being the next big thing, you kind of sense it.’
