They haven’t reunited since a one-off show in 2019.
But it has been confirmed the lead cast of The Inbetweeners are set to get together again, but this time, for Comic Con, taking place in Liverpool in November.
The event will see Joe Thomas, 37, Simon Bird, 36, Blake Harrison, 35, and James Buckley, 33, meet with fans and chat about the show – without some of the other big names from the comedy series including Emily Atack and Greg Davies.
Reunited: The lead cast of The Inbetweeners are set to get together again for for the first time since 2019 with an appearance at Comic Con, taking place in Liverpool in November
An event insider told The Daily Star: ‘Having the cast reunite for the event is a massive deal.
‘We know a lot of people have often called for them to get back together and reunite for a massive public event, so we are glad we can do that. Fans won’t want to miss it.’
The group previously reunited for The Inbetweeners Fwends Reunited 10th anniversary show, which aired on New Year’s Day 2019.
Speaking just before it aired, Emily Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the show, revealed she was axed from the series’ reunion show just a day before filming was due to start.
Not everyone: The event will see Joe Thomas, 37, Simon Bird, 36, Blake Harrison, 35, and James Buckley, 33, meet with fans and chat about the show – without some of the other big names from the comedy series including Emily Atack (pictured with Simon Bird) and Greg Davies
Greg Davies, who starred as headteacher Mr Gilbert, still joined the boys, along with Emmerdale star Emily Head, who played Carli D’Amato.
A few months after it was aired, Emily hinted that James Buckley was the reason why she was scrapped from reunion and reportedly said there was a lot of ‘snobbery’ surrounding it.
According to The Sun, Emily revealed the information during Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast.
A source told the publication: ‘Richard asked about Joe Thomas, saying it couldn’t be him as he’s a lovely man.
‘He then bought up James Buckley, and Emily hesitated and then shouted out “James F***ley!” which got a huge laugh from the audience.
‘Emily then said that there was a “lot of snobbery” and then said she didn’t want to say anything else.’
Hotly anticipated: An event insider said it is an event fans would not want to miss, adding ‘Having the cast reunite for the event is a massive deal’
The reunion was slammed by devoted fans at the time who branded the programme ‘toe-curling, painful, awkward and cringeworthy’.
Others were left agitated at the concept as they believed the comedy was set to be a new episode rather than a chat show.
The foursome, who played Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright respectively, clubbed together to chat to presenter Jimmy Carr before going for a spin in the now-iconic yellow Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii car.
There was much fanfare over the reunion, however it seems the problems arose for fans due to confusion over the premise of the programme.
Critics also hit out at the show, with a review in The Telegraph branding the show: ‘A shambolic mess that failed to do the show justice’.

The 31-year-old said: ‘It became a thing that wasn’t a celebration of this good thing I did in my life, it was me being taken the p**s out of for hours on end.
‘I didn’t have the personality or the intelligence to cope with it, especially when you’re up against someone like Jimmy Carr, who’s super quick and super funny. So I come across as a complete moron through the whole thing.
‘I got caught where I was acting up as Jay because there was an audience there of Inbetweeners fans and I got caught in this spot between Jay and myself where myself was going, “You’re acting like a f**king idiot, you’re being a moron, you’re being a d**k”.
‘And there was this bit where it was like, “Well they’re all here and they want you to be Jay, so do it.”
‘When the audience was there, I didn’t want to seem like a stick in the mud.’
