Zayn Malik was involved in a verbal altercation in New York and the heated confrontation was caught on video.
In footage obtained by TMZ, One Direction hitmaker Zayn, 28, can be seen shirtless whilst being involved in an argument with a man outside a Manhattan bar.
The man squaring up to the musician allegedly shouted a homophobic slur at the pop sensation.
A source told the American outlet that the altercation happened outside Amsterdam Billiards Club in the East Village in the early hours of the morning.
The insider says that Zayn was outside having a cigarette when a group of men came out of the venue next door before things kicked off.
They add that the man in the clip tried to pick a fight with Zayn and lunged at the chart-topper before allegedly calling Zayn a homophobic name.
In the clip, the man can also be heard asking the star: “Who the f*** are you?”
Zayn can also be heard swearing and hurling insults back.
Several people can be seen surrounding the pair and two people – one man who appears to be a bouncer and a woman – stood between the fuming pair in a bid to keep them apart and to stop any physical violence.

Zayn became a dad for the first time last year when girlfriend Gigi Hadid, 26, gave birth to their daughter in September.
The musician recently told he now spends all his days looking after the two women in his life – but is able to work on his records in the evening.
Opening up about his new home life, Zayn explained that he and model Gigi have found the perfect balance for work and home life.
He said on the Zach Sang podcast: “I’ve spent a lot of time with my little girl and my missus.
“When I can get the evening to myself I do a bit of writing and [Gigi] is really cool about it.”
He added, on the Zach Sang: Just The Interviews Podcast: “I related my album to my baby – it’s part of you and you want to share it with your world.”
Back in March, Zayn – who has been in a relationship with Gigi since 2015 – revealed his daughter has made first time parenting a breeze for both him and Gigi.
He told iHeartRadio: “Honestly, she’s an amazing baby.
“It’s been really easy for me and Gigi to kind of just ease into it.”
